Adventure Activities in Egypt

Egypt is a country regarded by most travellers as an intriguing location in which a unique holiday experience can be enjoyed. Known for its colorful artwork and sculptures, desert plains and mystifying pyramids, Egypt offers a one-of-a-kind holiday experience for both seasoned travellers and those heading abroad for the first time.

Most people embarking on an Egypt holiday do not want to spend the majority of their time in their hotel suite. Egypt's bustling metropolitan centers, age-old temples and historical archeological sites lure visitors out of their accommodations to where they can indulge in the cultural experience of a lifetime.Even if you're staying in resorts such as Sharm el Sheikh you can still see the sites of ancient Egypt.

Water Sports and Rock Climbing
Many people enjoy diving, jet skiing and water skiing while taking an Egypt holiday . Those interested in such activities may wish to head to Sharm el-Sheikh or Dahab on the Egyptian Sinai coast, as water sports can be found in abundance in such areas. Those who prefer smaller crowds when water skiing or jet skiing should choose the Eilat region as their water sports headquarters. Interesting marine life and uncrowded shores make this area a pleasant choice for first time water sport participants as well as those who have considerable experience with such activities.

Visitors who want to make the most of their Red Sea holiday may also decide to visit Eilat's Underwater Observatory. A favorite attraction of both holiday makers and locals, the observatory provides an ideal way to view Red Sea marine life without having to go underwater. Its large white tower is one of the most famous landmarks in Egypt and from here one can view a wide variety of fish, turtles, sting ray and sharks.

Those searching for unique adventure activities in Egypt should also consider rock climbing in areas such as Sinai and Rum. Rock climbing can be an exceptionally fun experience in Egypt for beginners and seasoned climbers alike. The giant boulders on the banks of the Nile also offer a fun and memorable rock climbing experience and group excursions lead by experienced guides are also available.

Kite Surfing
Warm, shallow waters and excellent wind conditions make Egypt the perfect place to enjoy a day of kite surfing. If one has never participated in this fun and entertaining sport, Egypt is the perfect place to give it a try. Kite surfing schools are easily found and visitors who attend such facilities are assured of receiving the highest level of instruction while using state-of-the-art equipment.

Camel Safaris in the Sahara Desert
Exotic exploring appeals to many people when on holiday in Egypt and there is no better avenue through which to accomplish this than a camel safari. Day trips to cafes, shopping markets or historical sites are an option, as are longer safaris lasting up to a week or more. Most tourist areas in Egypt offer camel rides and some of the more popular starting locations for such trips are Sharm el Sheikh, Safaga and other locations close to the Sahara desert. Some camel ride excursions include a trek through popular archeological sites and other interesting tourist areas followed by dinner at a bedouin camp under the stars.

Quad Biking
Quad bike excursions can be arranged on a daily basis from a variety of locations including Safaga, Marsa Alam, Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh. Such outings typically last several hours and include rides through the mountains, deserts and villages. Most safari type adventures stop at some point along the way to allow guests to view the sun as it sets against the beautiful backdrop of the desert.

Regardless of one's personal preference with regard to activities and attractions, a Red Sea holiday offers something to please everyone and will be remembered with a smile for many years to come.
